Man Shot Behind Newark School, Search For His Killer Continues 4 Years Later

Police are offering a $10,000 reward to help catch the person who gunned a man down behind an elementary school in New Jersey.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Police continue to search for the shooter who killed a man more than four years ago behind an elementary school in Newark.

Essex County authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in connection with the fatal shooting, which took place on Nov. 6, 2020 behind the Luis Munoz Marin Elementary School at 663 Broadway in Newark.

The victim was later identified as Quaze Vines, 23 (see photo below).

“We are urging anyone with information to come forward,” Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens said.

“Even the smallest detail could help investigators crack this case and bring justice to the victim’s family,” Stephens said.
