Man Stabbed In Back Outside Newark Bar After Argument: Police
Police have issued an arrest warrant for a Newark resident accused of stabbing another man after a dispute outside a local bar.
NEWARK, NJ — Police have issued an arrest warrant for a Newark resident accused of stabbing another man after a dispute outside a local bar last week, authorities announced Tuesday.
Joel Perez, 43, of Newark, is wanted in connection with an aggravated assault that took place on April 23, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.
Police responded to the 40-block of Fleming Avenue around 1 a.m. The victim told officers that he was standing outside the bar when he got into an argument with Perez. At one point, the victim began to walk away – only to be stabbed in the back with a metal object, authorities said.

Newark police said they are searching for Perez, who is described as 5 feet 9 inches and 180 pounds, with brown eyes, black hair and a light skin complexion (see photo below). He is known to frequent the Hyatt Court public housing complex.
Perez is also wanted for possession of a weapon and possession for an unlawful purpose, police said.
