Man Stabbed During Argument In Newark; Cops Seek Suspect

Newark police have issued a warrant for a man who allegedly stabbed another person during an argument.

NEWARK, NJ — Newark police have issued a warrant for a man who allegedly stabbed another person during an argument, authorities announced Friday.

Freddie Willis, 49, of Newark, is wanted in connection with a stabbing that took place around 5 p.m. on Tuesday at Quitman Street and West Kinney Street, the Newark Department of Public Safety said.

The victim told officers that Willis stabbed him after a verbal argument. He was treated at nearby hospital and is reportedly in stable condition, police said.

Police charged Willis with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

According to police, Willis is 5 feet 8 inches and 200 to 250 pounds, with a medium brown complexion and black and gray hair. Police released the below photo of Willis.
