Manalapan Engineer Helms PATH Extension Into Newark’s South Ward

An award-winning engineer from Manalapan is spearheading the PATH to Newark Extension project.

NEWARK, NJ — An award-winning engineer from Manalapan will be spearheading the PATH to Newark Extension project, a massive effort to extend the Port Authority’s train network into the South Ward of Newark.

According to the Port Authority of NY/NJ, Dana Hecht, a Manalapan resident with a quarter-century of state service under her belt, is helming the PATH to Newark Extension project. (Learn more about this project here)

A graduate of Temple University who holds a bachelor’s degree in civil and construction engineering technology, Hecht has previously worked on projects with the New Jersey Department of Transportation and NJ Transit over her 27 years of state service.

She recently won the prestigious Government Civil Engineer of the Year Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers.
