Police Say Missing Newark Girl, 12, Found Unharmed: Updated

A girl reported missing in Newark boarded a bus headed to New York, police said. She has since been found.

Newark police are asking for the public’s help finding a missing, 12-year-old girl, authorities say.

According to the Newark Department of Safety, Johnnae Moss, 12, of Newark, was reported missing Monday.

Police said Moss is 5 feet 7 inches and 90 pounds, with a light-brown skin complexion, orange/green hair, and brown eyes. Moss was last seen wearing blue pajama pants with dinosaurs, an orange shirt with a whale on the front, and blue Crocs.

Police said Moss was last seen on the 200-block of Osborne Terrace, where she boarded the 107 NJ Transit bus heading to New York. She previously resided in New York and has family in The Bronx.

Authorities said anyone with information about Moss’ whereabouts can call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Anonymous tips can also be made using the Police Division’s website at www.newarkpd.org or through its smartphone app.
