Missing Newark Man Frequents Park Near Belleville, Police Say

A missing Essex County man was last seen more than a month ago, authorities said.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Police are asking for the public’s help finding a missing 55-year-old man in Essex County, authorities announced Thursday.

Marvin R. Walker, 55, of Newark, was reported missing on Tuesday, Feb. 17, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.

Walker was last seen around 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17 in the area of Manchester Place near Grafton Avenue in Newark. He is known to frequent Branch Brook Drive near Maier Street in Belleville, police said.

Walker is also known to frequent South Main Street near Tyndall Avenue in Phillipsburg, police said.

Police said Walker is African American, 5 feet 10 inches and 200 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Authorities said anyone with information can contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Anonymous tips can also be made using the Police Division’s website.
