Missing Newark Woman, 28, Was Headed To Jersey City: Cops

Venika Williams, 28, of Newark, was heading to Jersey City the last time she was seen, police say.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ -- Authorities are asking for the public's help finding a missing Essex County woman last seen heading to Jersey City. Venika Williams, 28, of Newark, was reported missing on Tuesday, Jan. 2, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.

Williams is 5 foot 3 inches and 142 pounds, and was last seen wearing a black leather coat, blue jeans, red sneakers and a red purse. She also has a tattoo on her left hand that reads “Tanesha.” (See below photo)

Williams was last seen on Friday, Dec. 22, on the 100-block of Dayton Street. She was heading to Jersey City, police said.

"While police are actively searching for Ms. Williams, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating her," Newark police stated.
