Missing Newark Woman, 72, Last Seen Nearly 2 Months Ago: Police

The missing woman was last seen by a caretaker at a rehab program in Essex County, police said.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Police are asking for the public’s help finding a missing, 72-year-old woman who was last seen by a caretaker at a rehab program in Essex County nearly two months ago.

On Wednesday, the Newark Department of Public Safety announced that police are trying to locate Annette Jeter 72, of Newark.

Police said Jeter was last seen on Nov. 22 by a caretaker at Project Live, a Newark-based program on Ridgewood Avenue that provides residential, rehabilitative, vocational and supportive services.

Jeter was reported missing on Dec. 16, police said.

Authorities said Jeter is 5 feet 6 inches and 90 pounds, with brown eyes, brown hair and a medium-brown skin complexion.

Police said anyone with information can contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695- 8477). Anonymous tips can also be made using the Police Division’s website or its smartphone app.
