Missing Newark Woman May Have Dementia, Last Seen At Hospital: PD

A 74-year-old woman with mental health issues was reported missing. She was last seen at Beth Israel Hospital in Newark, police said.

NEWARK, NJ — Newark authorities are asking for the public’s help finding a missing 74-year-old woman diagnosed with mental health issues, possibly including dementia. She was last seen at Beth Israel Hospital in Newark, police said.

According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, Diane James, 74, of Newark, was reported missing on Tuesday.

Police described James as 5 feet 4 inches, with a dark skin complexion and red hair. She has brown eyes; her right eye is a prosthetic (see below photo). It is not known what she was wearing.

“While police are actively searching for Mrs. James, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and returning her to her family,” authorities said.
