Missing Newark Woman Was Last Seen 2 Days Ago: Police

Newark police are asking for the public's help finding a missing 61-year-old woman, authorities said.

NEWARK, NJ — Newark police are asking for the public’s help finding a missing 61-year-old woman, authorities announced Thursday afternoon.

According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, Bernetta Crawford, 61, was reported missing on Tuesday.

Crawford, who is diagnosed with schizophrenia, was last seen at 8:30 p.m. on the 100-block of Ballantine Parkway. She was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black tights and blue sneakers (see photo below).

Crawford walks with a three-pronged black cane and has a slight hunch in her back, police added.

Authorities said anyone with information can contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Anonymous tips can also be made using the Police Division’s website.
