Newark police are asking for the public’s help finding a missing woman, authorities say.
Maria Celeste Marques, 79, of Newark, was reported missing on Thursday, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.

Marques, who has been diagnosed with dementia, was last seen at 10:38 a.m. on Van Buren Street in Newark. She is 5 feet and weighs 90 to 110 pounds, and has brown eyes. She was wearing eyeglasses, a gold sweater, brown shirt, brown shoes and carrying a black purse, police said.
Authorities said anyone with information can contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Anonymous tips can also be made using the Police Division’s website.
