Muslim Heritage Celebrated At Newark City Hall, Flag Raising Event
Newark's first elected Muslim representative said the events celebrated the Muslim community's deep roots in the city.
NEWARK, NJ — The Newark Muslim Heritage Coalition hosted a celebration earlier this month at City Hall for New Jersey Muslim Heritage Month 2026. Other local events in January have included a Muslim American flag raising.
Newark's first elected Muslim representative, Amina Bey, said the events celebrated the Muslim community's deep roots in the city.
An “Honoring the Pioneers” program will take place at the Newark Public Library main branch from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24.
