Fire At Newark Apartment Building Leaves Several Families Without A Home

Four children and nine adults were relocated after the blaze, authorities said.

NEWARK, NJ — A fire broke out at a three-story apartment building in Newark on Sunday, leaving several families without a home, authorities said.

According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, firefighters responded a fire on the 10-block of Taylor Street at 9:49 a.m.

The fire was placed under control around 10:30 a.m., authorities said.

A total of 13 people were relocated after the blaze: four children and nine adults. No injuries were reported, authorities said.

The Newark Department of Public Safety Arson Unit is investigating the cause and origin of the fire. No additional information was immediately available.
