Newark Archbishop Marks Milestone Easter Mass At Cathedral Basilica
For the first time since the pandemic started, Cardinal Joseph Tobin celebrated Easter Mass at Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart.
NEWARK, NJ — A milestone Mass took place at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark last week.
On Sunday – for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic started – Cardinal Joseph Tobin celebrated Easter Mass at the cathedral. During the Mass, which drew a full crowd, Tobin, the archbishop of Newark, told parishioners that Easter is an “ideal time” to reaffirm their faith.
The Mass marked the conclusion of Holy Week, the Catholic church’s most sacred time of year, archdiocese spokespeople noted.
