NEWARK, NJ — Newark authorities are searching for an armed robbery suspect who allegedly left a single, size 10 ½ sneaker behind at the scene of the crime.

According to the Newark Department of Public Safety (NDPS), police officers responded to Sidi Supermarket at 300 South 7th Street around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20 after getting a call about shots fired.

After investigating, police determined that a man entered the store and tried to rob a customer inside at gunpoint. However, other patrons in the store “intervened.” When a struggle broke out, the man allegedly fired the gun and fled the scene on foot.
