Newark Arsonist Hurt In Fire He Started; Kids Home At Time: Cops
Police: Two children and two adults were home at the time. None were hurt, but the alleged arsonist was taken to a Livingston hospital.

NEWARK, NJ — Authorities charged a Newark man with arson and endangering the welfare of two children after he allegedly started a fire at a local home earlier this month. Two children and two adults were inside the residence at the time of the blaze, but none were harmed, police said.
However, the alleged arsonist - Keith C. Johnson, 42, of Newark – suffered injuries during the incident that required treatment at Saint Barnabas Hospital in Livingston. Johnson was discovered at the scene of the fire, 41 Seymour Avenue, around 2 a.m. on June 5, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.
After identifying Johnson as a suspect, authorities arrested him Friday and charged him with arson, making terroristic threats and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
