Newark Art Teacher Had Sex With Student At School: Prosecutor
A NJ teacher from Pennsylvania is accused of repeatedly having sex with a teenage student on school property while classes were in session.
NEWARK, NJ — An art teacher in Newark has been accused of having sex with a teenage student several times on school property while classes were in session, prosecutors announced Wednesday.
Luis Aviles, an art instructor in the Newark Public School District, was arrested and charged with multiple counts of sexual assault against a 14-year-old student, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office stated.
Aviles, 50, of Allentown, Pennsylvania, has been employed by the Newark Public School District for 19 years, prosecutors said.

The teen said that Aviles had been sexually assaulting him since the beginning of December of 2017. The sexual assault allegedly continued into September of the next school year, prosecutors said.
Aviles allegedly committed the assaults on school property while class was in session, prosecutors stated.
