“I knew this day would come but nothing could prepare me for this moment… I have resigned from the Newark Board of Education effective immediately. I joined the board in 2018 to help break down barriers for the student in the great City of Newark. It has been an honor to be part of their journey and a blessing to witness their greatness. Our children define who they are and control their narratives. I have pulled from their strength in tough times because they are the definition of perseverance. They are unapologetically great. I am departing from the board, but I am still here tearing down barriers to help our students reach their full potential. Thank you for this beautiful opportunity, Newark.”
