Newark Cops Arrest Suspected Ferry Street Bank Robber In Jersey City

A bank employee told officers that a suspect approached her booth, demanded money and fled on foot with the bank's cash, Newark police say.

NEWARK, NJ — Newark police arrested a Perth Amboy man in Jersey City on Monday who was wanted for a bank robbery in their jurisdiction, authorities said.

According to the Newark Police Department, local officers and members of a FBI Fugitive Task Force arrested Bruce Graves, 48, of Perth Amboy, at 761 Ocean Avenue in Jersey City on Aug. 29 and charged him with robbery and resisting arrest.

Graves was wanted in connection with a Ferry Street bank robbery that took place around 4:40 p.m. on July 26, authorities said. After the encounter, a bank employee told police that a suspect approached her booth, demanded money and fled on foot with the bank’s cash.

Following an investigation, detectives developed alleged evidence that Graves may be the individual responsible for the robbery, authorities stated.
