Newark Cops Probe Double Shooting Near Park
Newark police say that two people were injured in the shooting, which took place near Avon Avenue and Stratford Place.
NEWARK, NJ — Authorities are investigating a double shooting that took place near a Newark park on Tuesday, police said.
Responding to a Shot Spotter notification, Newark police officers arrived at Avon Avenue and Stratford Place around 11 a.m. to find a male victim who was “alert and conscious.” A second male victim arrived at University Hospital for treatment and is in stable condition, authorities stated Tuesday afternoon.
No further information about the shooting was immediately available.
