Man Wanted On Attempted Murder Charge Apprehended In Newark, Reports Say (UPDATE)
Newark officers helped the U.S. Marshals Service to apprehend a wanted suspect, authorities said.
NEWARK, NJ — Police have apprehended a man after he fired gunshots at officers from inside a home, reports say.
According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, officers responded to the 400-block of Irvine Turner Boulevard at 11:05 a.m. on Monday to help the U.S. Marshals Service apprehend a man wanted out of Hillside on a charge of attempted murder.
The suspect has since been apprehended, multiple reports say.

Mayor Ras Baraka said the person fired gunshots at the police. Officers safely rescued a baby from the home using a bulletproof shield, he added.
