Newark Cops Seek Man On BMX Seen At Scene Of Fire (VIDEO)

Newark authorities are seeking a man "wanted for questioning" in connection with a two-alarm fire that took place at 14 Garden Street.

NEWARK, NJ — Newark authorities are seeking a man “wanted for questioning” in connection with a two-alarm fire that took place at 14 Garden Street on Saturday.

According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, around 10:10 a.m., about 60 Newark firefighters responded to the scene of a fire on the 2nd and 3rd floors of a three-story, vacant commercial building. The fire was put under control at 1:29 p.m.

A trio of firefighters were transported to University Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. No other injuries were reported, Newark authorities said.

Arson detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in quickly identifying a male who was allegedly at the scene. The man was wearing a black hat and sweatshirt with camouflage pants, and was riding a BMX dirt bicycle. (See below photo/video)
