NEWARK FIRST RENT CONTROL HEARING ON THE CPI-U

The City of Newark will have it first tenant hearing on the new rent control that is being challenged by Kettler Management

Kettler Management is a company that manages several properties in the City of Newark, New Jersey. The owners like Mr. Richard Tell and others have declined not to honor the CPI-U for any and all the new and old lease renewals in the City of Newark, New Jersey. Because of this several tenants have filed their complaints with the City of Newark Rent Control Board. The first hearing is scheduled for Thursday December 18, 2014 at 6pm. This is a public hearing and all residents in the City of Newark should attend...because this case affects ”all renters” in this city.

Kettler Management once a tenant moves out of the apartments charges at lease 20% prior to the old tenant on the vacant apartments which is ”illegal” in the City of Newark since there is Rent Control of 4% and this has not been the practice of many high rise landlords in this city.
