NEWARK, NJ — A gas station attendant in Newark was zapped with a stun gun during a robbery last week, police announced Tuesday.

According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, officers responded to the Sunoco gas station on Elizabeth Avenue around 7 p.m. on Friday after getting a call about a robbery in progress.

The station attendant told officers that three women were involved in the robbery. When one of the women accused him of not putting gas in their car – a gray, 2014 Nissan Sentra – he tried to get the receipt as proof. The women then got out of the vehicle and attacked him, the employee said.
