Newark Groups Team Up For Homeless Outreach Event
The Newark homeless outreach event included free haircuts, lunch, clothing, toiletries and info about social services.

NEWARK, NJ — A partnership of community groups, municipal departments and businesses lent a helping hand to homeless residents in Newark last week.
On Wednesday, the City of Newark, Bridges Outreach, Audible and the Newark Public Library teamed up to host a homeless outreach event at 5 Washington Street. More than 25 providers of health, nutrition, shelter and other social services gathered at the library's Centennial Hall for the event, which included free haircuts, lunch, clothing, toiletries and snacks for participants.
