Meetings for high school students in Newark next week

Orientation for high school students in Newark is scheduled for next week.

All high school students are asked to report to orientation prior to the first day of school Sept. 6. Orientation will take place from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at all Newark public high schools.

At the meetings, students will be greeted by their principals and will be given important information, including graduation requirements. Class goals, scheduling for the school year and objectives, presented by class advisors, will also be discussed.

A list of orientation dates at high schools American History, Arts, Bard, Barringer, Central, East Side, Malcolm X Shabazz, Newark Bridges, Newark Innovation Academy, Newark Leadership, Newark Vocational, Science Park, Technology, University, Weequahic and West Side are below:

  • Seniors: Monday, Aug. 27
  • Juniors: Tuesday, Aug. 28
  • Sophomores: Wednesday, Aug. 29
  • Freshmen: Thursday, Aug. 30
