Newark Man, 80, Has Been Missing For 2 Weeks; Police Seek Help

NEWARK, NJ — Newark police are asking for the public’s help finding a missing man, authorities said Tuesday.

The Newark Department of Public Safety said Jene Johnson, 80, of Newark, was reported missing on June 29.

According to police:

“Mr. Johnson, who suffers from dementia, was last seen in the 100-block of Stuyvesant Avenue at approximately 8 a.m. He is described as 6 feet 4 inches and 160 pounds with a dark skin complexion, a balding gray head and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue knitted sweater, black jeans and a black cap. He may be traveling to New York by train. Detectives investigating this incident are seeking the public’s help in quickly locating Mr. Johnson as part of their investigation.”
