Newark police are asking for the public’s help finding a missing 92-year-old man, authorities announced Friday.
Maximo Gutierrez of Newark was reported missing on Friday, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.

Authorities provided more details in a statement:
“Mr. Gutierrez, who suffers from Alzheimer’s [disease], was reported missing from the Court Street near Broad Street. He was last seen at around 8:50 a.m. walking westbound on Court Street towards Nevada Street. Mr. Gutierrez is described as 5 feet 4 inches and 147 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black American flag cap, black coat, blue jeans and white sneakers. He also walks with a brown cane.”
Authorities said that anyone with information can contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Anonymous tips can also be made using the Police Division’s website at https://npd.newarkpublicsafety.org, or through its smartphone app.
