Newark Man Arrested, Charged With Christmas Eve Murder
Police charged a Newark resident with murder after he allegedly shot and killed a 29-year-old man on Christmas Eve.
NEWARK, NJ — Police have charged a Newark man with murder after he allegedly shot and killed a 29-year-old man on Christmas Eve.
Authorities arrested Hassan Fisher, 24, of Newark, and charged him with the murder of Troy Branch, 29, of Newark, according to a Friday statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Department of Public Safety.
Branch was shot and killed on Christmas Eve 2018 on Peshine Street in Newark, authorities said.

Fisher was apprehended Thursday at a residence in Newark, authorities stated.
A police investigation is ongoing, authorities said.
