NEWARK, NJ — A New Jersey resident who attacked his pregnant wife two years ago was convicted of assault this week, partly due to testimony from the victim’s teenage daughter, prosecutors announced Friday.
According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, a jury found Milton Chogllo, 31, of Newark, guilty on charges of second-degree aggravated assault (strangulation) and third-degree aggravated assault on Wednesday after a weeklong trial.
Prosecutors said that Chogllo strangled and beat his 32-year-old spouse outside of their home on Bergen Street in Newark on March 5, 2023. She was six-months pregnant at the time.
