Newark Man Dies In Irvington Shooting; Police Probe Continues

A fatal shooting in Irvington claimed a 34-year-old Newark man's life, authorities said.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A fatal shooting in Irvington claimed an Essex County man’s life on Monday, authorities said.

Authorities are investigating the death of Kevin L. Williams, 34, of Newark, according to a joint statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Irvington Police Department.

Irvington police got a report about a man with gunshot wounds on the 100-block of Cleremont Avenue at 6:59 p.m. When officers arrived, they found Williams, who was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:24 p.m.

“At this time no arrests have been made,” prosecutors said Tuesday. “The investigation is active and ongoing.”
