Newark Man Fatally Shot In Irvington; Police Investigation Continues

A Newark man was fatally shot in Irvington, authorities said.

NEWARK, NJ — A Newark man was fatally shot in Irvington last week, authorities announced Sunday.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Irvington Police Department released a joint statement about the shooting, which claimed the life of Tony King, 50, of Newark:

“On August 25, at 11:26 p.m., police were notified of an alleged shooting at the 100-block of Isabella Avenue in Irvington. Police arrived and found King outside suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at 12:05 a.m. [on Sunday].”
