ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A Newark resident has been found guilty of murdering a man in the nearby city of Orange several years ago, prosecutors announced Monday.

According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, an Essex County jury found Marcus Wright, 34, of Newark, guilty of first-degree murder and weapons charges in connection with the death of Wisguen Marc, 25.

Prosecutors said the fatal shooting took place on Nov. 20, 2020 on the 100-block of Main Street in Orange after Wright pulled a gun on Marc. Following a brief altercation, Wright shot Marc once in the back, fatally wounding him.
