Newark Man Masturbated Near Women, Charged With Assault: Police
Newark police said the victims included a woman and her 1-year-old grandchild, and a juvenile riding her bike.
NEWARK, NJ — A Newark man has been accused of masturbating near women in two separate incidents, authorities recently announced.
According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, Harol Armijo Rosales, 24, has been arrested and charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of burglary, criminal trespassing, sexual assault and sexual contact.
Police released the following allegations about each incident.

March 14 – “A woman with her 1-year-old grandchild was accosted by a man who was masturbating inside the first-floor hallway of a residential building in the area of Hawkins and Horatio streets. The man grabbed the woman, who screamed, prompting her family to come to her aid.”
March 22 – “A juvenile female riding a bicycle on the 100-block of Brill Street, just ahead of her parents who were walking, was followed into the gate of a residence by a man. The suspect followed the girl to the rear of the house and hid inside a garage at the property when the victim’s parents came to her aid. Detectives investigating this incident observed the suspect on video surveillance masturbating in a driveway across the street prior to the juvenile victim’s arrival. Police also observed the suspect later flee from his hiding place in the garage, heading northbound on Brill Street and eastbound on Brinsmaid Place.”

Rosales was later identified as the suspect in both incidents. NJ Transit police arrested him on March 24, authorities said.
