Newark Mayor, Council Election 2018 (Check Results Here)

NEWARK, NJ — Newark voters headed to the polls on Tuesday, May 8 to decide who will be the city’s next mayor and city council members. But who will emerge victorious?

According to the Essex County Clerk's Office, as of 10 p.m. on Tuesday, here are the unofficial, early results.

Newark Mayor (Vote for 1)

• Ras BARAKA 77.05% (21,490 votes)
• Gayle CHANEYFIELD JENKINS 22.64% (6,314 votes)

Newark Council Member At-Large (Vote For 4)

• Mildred C. CRUMP 21.15% (16,217 votes)
• Luis A. QUINTANA 21.48% (16,475 votes)
• Carlos M. GONZALEZ 16.84% (12,912 votes)
• Eddie OSBORNE 15.23% (11,679 votes)
• Dupre L. KELLY 4.47% (3,430 votes)
• Shakima K. THOMAS 2.41% (1,851 votes)
• Bessie WALKER 6.78% (5,202 votes)
• Hector M. CORCHADO 5.54% (4,252 votes)
