Newark Mayor To Hold ‘State Of City’ Speech, Free Tickets Available

Ras Baraka will present the 2025 State of the City address on April 17.

NEWARK, NJ — Newark Mayor Ras Baraka will present the 2025 “State of the City” address on Thursday, April 17.

This year’s annual speech will take place at Prudential Hall in the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), 1 Center Street, at 7 p.m.

Baraka is expected to speak about public safety, economic development and revitalization, workforce development, affordable housing, public health and investment in the arts, according to the mayor’s office.
