NEWARK, NJ — The story of a city is told through its arts community, advocates say.

Arts Ed Newark recently announced that it has been approved by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) for a “Grants for Arts Projects” award of $85,000. The funds will support the nonprofit’s ongoing arts education collective impact project in Newark.

“Projects like Arts Ed Newark's Collective Impact exemplify the creativity and care with which communities are telling their stories, creating connection, and responding to challenges and opportunities in their communities—all through the arts,” NEA chair Maria Rosario Jackson said.
