Newark Nurse Gets ‘Clap Out’ From Peers After Beating Coronavirus

NEWARK, NJ — A nurse at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center earned an emotional “clap out” from her peers after her successful fight against the new coronavirus.
On Thursday, hospital administrators shared an update about Mary Koch, the director of nursing education at the Center for Professional Development, Innovation and Research at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children's Hospital of New Jersey.
It wasn’t long ago that Koch found herself “out of breath.” After testing positive for COVID-19 and spending a week as an inpatient, her colleagues escorted her out of the hospital to the sound of applause (watch the video below).
