Newark Police Announce 2 Big Waves Of Arrests In March, April
The arrestees have been accused of crimes that include robbery, assault and unlawful weapon possession, police said.
NEWARK, NJ — Newark police recently reported two major waves of arrests involving suspects accused of crimes such as robbery, assault and unlawful weapon possession.
On Friday, the Newark Department of Public Safety announced that six adults and two juveniles were arrested in March and the first week of April.
The list of suspects and their alleged crimes include:

- Darryl Harper, 36, of Newark, was arrested for burglary, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, aggravated assault, and terroristic threats on March 6
- Marquis T. Clark, 49, of East Orange, was arrested for aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose on March 7
- Trevor D. Fagan, 46, of Dickinson, N.Y., was arrested for aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose on April 7
- Latisha J. Wheeler, 36, of Newark, was arrested for robbery, terroristic threats, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and aggravated assault on March 15
- Denzel P. Riley, 34, of Newark, was arrested for robbery, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon on March 20
- Ashiya K. Bryant, 38, of Newark, was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a weapon on March 30
- A 15-year-old Newark juvenile was arrested for robbery on March 10
- A 14-year-old Newark juvenile was arrested for robbery on March 19
Earlier this week, Newark police announced a separate wave of arrests. According to authorities, 14 people with outstanding warrants were apprehended in March and April.

- Daijon Williams, 25, of Newark, was arrested for aggravated assault on March 31.
- Nasir T. Minatee, 25, of East Orange, was arrested on March 31. He faces charges of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
- Trent Dillon, 38, of Irvington, was arrested on April 1, 2025, for an incident that occurred on March 19. He faces charges of terroristic threats.
- Filipe Oliveira-Silva, 23, of Newark, was arrested on April 1, 2025, for an incident that occurred on March 10. He faces charges of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
- Almusaddi Moore-Washington, 47, of Newark, was arrested on April 1 in connection with an incident that occurred on March 31. He faces charges of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and terroristic threats.
- Pedro Batista-Bonifacio, 35, of Philadelphia, was arrested on March 28. He was wanted on charges of unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of prohibited weapons (large capacity magazine), and two counts of conspiracy.
- Jalil Hines, 28, of Newark, was arrested on April 2. He faces charges of aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon.
- Mark A. Serrano, 34, of Newark, was arrested on March 29. He faces charges of aggravated assault and simple assault.
- Jihad Jones, 40, of Newark, was arrested on April 3. He faces two counts of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain persons prohibited from weapon possession.
