Newark Police Recruits Weren't Paid For Weeks: Report
Some of Newark's newest cops have gone weeks without being paid, police sources say.

Newark, NJ - There’s an important part of the employer-employee agreement that is being ignored in Newark, police sources say.
Specifically, some of Newark’s newest police recruits haven’t been paid since they started the job, a NJ.com report claims.
Despite having started work more than four weeks ago, the 62 recruits that began training in Passaic County on Nov. 5 were still without their first paychecks as of Thursday, according to NJ.com.

City administrators and representatives gave no explanation for the delay but apologized for the mistake.
“It is very unfortunate the city’s police recruits were not paid in a timely fashion, however, they have all been paid since the issue was brought to my attention,” city business administrator Jack Kelly wrote to NJ.com in an email on Thursday.
