Missing ‘Endangered’ Teen In Newark Found, Is Uninjured: Police

The 16-year-old was last seen on Chelsea Avenue in Newark, police said.

NEWARK, NJ — UPDATE: Newark police announced on July 24 that Shawn Harris has been found and is uninjured. Our original article follows below.

Newark authorities are asking for the public’s help locating a missing, “endangered” teen.

According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, police are seeking assistance from the public finding Shawn Harris, 16, who was reported missing Friday.

Harris was last seen Friday on the 100-block of Chelsea Avenue. He is described as Hispanic, 5 feet 9 inches and 140 pounds, with a light-brown skin complexion, light-brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing gray sweat pants and a light gray t-shirt with the words “East Side” on the front in red letters. (See below photo)
