Newark Police Searching For Missing Teen With Autism

A Newark teen diagnosed with autism, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia has been reported missing, police said.

NEWARK, NJ — Newark police are asking for the public’s help finding a missing teen who “suffers from poor mental health,” authorities said Monday.

David Issac Bardales, 18, went missing on Sunday night, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.

The teen was last seen around 9 p.m. in the area of North Munn Avenue near South Orange Avenue. He has been diagnosed with autism, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, police said.

“While detectives are actively searching for David, we seek the public’s help in quickly locating him and returning him to his family,” authorities said.

According to police, Bardales is 5 feet 8 inches and 240 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray/blue hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants. He wears a face mask displaying the Dominican Republic flag.

Bardales was still missing as of Tuesday afternoon, police told Patch.
