Newark Protesters Will March Against Trump, Musk, Federal Cuts
Activists say they're also protesting the ongoing federal immigration crackdown and the nationwide rollback of DEI programs.

NEWARK, NJ — Activists are planning to hold a protest in Newark against President Donald Trump, Elon Musk, federal budget cuts, the ongoing immigration crackdown and the nationwide rollback of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs.
According to the People’s Organization for Progress (POP), the protest will take place at noon on Wednesday, March 12 outside the Rodino Federal Building at 970 Broad Street.
“The purpose of this protest is to demonstrate our firm opposition to social programs cuts, mass firings throughout the federal government, and destructive policies proposed by President Donald Trump and Elon Musk,” said POP chair and former U.S. Senate candidate Lawrence Hamm.

“They are trying to drag us backwards, but we are not going back without a fight,” he said.
