Newark Residents Can Score Free Tickets To MTV Awards

NEWARK, NJ — Are you a “superfan” of MTV’s annual Video Music Awards? If you live in Newark, it could score you free tickets to the 2023 gala event.

MTV recently announced that its VMAs will return to the Prudential Center in Newark for a second straight year on Tuesday, Sept. 12. Airing live in more than 150 countries and reaching more than 319 million households, the VMAs will pay tribute to some of the best music videos of the past year, and will include performances from superstars yet-to-be-named.

According to social media posts from city officials, a limited amount of free tickets to the 2023 VMAs are available for Newark residents.

An online portal that can be accessed here allows “superfans” in the Brick City to register for one or two tickets.

Newark also hosted the VMAs in 2019 and 2022.
