On November 6 the Rotary Club of Newark will present a program on the proper use of Narcan and its life saving ability to counter the effect of narcotics and other dangerous drugs. Narcan (naloxone) is an over-the-counter drug that’s used to treat known or possible opioid overdose. Narcan comes as a nasal spray. Each container holds one dose of Narcan that’s sprayed into one nostril. Since the possibility always exists that such an overdose may be accidental, this is an important information session for everyone, not only for those in the healthcare professions or for individuals with friends or family who are suffering from addictions. The program will be part of the regular monthly meeting of Newark Rotary, and will take place on Wednesday, November 6 at 12:00 at Spanish Pavillion in Harrison. The presenter will be Ray Freaney, Past District Governor of our Rotary District and current head of “Mental Health Advocates” Rotary Club.
