A school in Newark has been recognized for being a "State School of Character," the board of education announced.

NEWARK, NJ — A school in Newark has been recognized for being a “State School of Character,” the board of education recently announced.

Each year, Character.org certifies schools and districts at the state level that have developed and implemented an “intentional, proactive, and comprehensive approach that embeds character into all aspects of the school life.”

This year, John F. Kennedy School has nailed down the honor, the board reported:
