Newark Sees Rash Of Slayings: Fatal Shooting On 18th Street

Newark, NJ – Authorities are investigating what may be Newark’s 7th homicide in less than a week.

According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, Newark police were called to the 600 block of 18th Street, where they found Sean L. Scott, 28, of Newark, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Authorities pronounced Scott dead at the scene at 11:59 p.m.

The investigation is continuing, and no arrests have been made or suspects identified, prosecutors stated.
