Newark Teen Dies In Quadruple Shooting; No Arrests Made: Police
A Newark teen died in a quadruple shooting that also injured three other juveniles, authorities said.
NEWARK, NJ — A Newark teen died in a quadruple shooting that also injured three other juveniles on Saturday night, authorities said.
The shooting took place on the 900-block of Bergen Street around 9 p.m., according to a joint statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Department of Public Safety.
Police said that men in a vehicle opened fire on the four victims, including Djiba Kaba, 17. Kaba, a Newark resident, was taken to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:41 p.m.

The other victims – a male and two females – were also taken to University Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
No arrests have been made as of Sunday evening, authorities stated.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, is investigating the shooting. Police said anyone with information can contact the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office tips line at 1-877-TIPS-4EC or 1-877-847-7432.
