NEWARK, NJ -- Police in Newark are asking for the public's help finding a teen who has been missing for almost a month, authorities reported Thursday.

According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, Alima Brinson, 16, of Newark, was reported missing on Aug. 23. She was last seen on the 700-block of Parker Street, wearing black shorts and a white t-shirt with red and black Nike sneakers.

Brinson, who is known to frequent East Orange, is 5 feet 3 inches and 150 pounds, and has brown eyes, black hair and a medium-brown skin complexion, police said.
