Newark Woman, 77, Reported Missing: Police Seek Help From Public

NEWARK, NJ — Newark police are asking for the public’s help finding a missing, 77-year-old woman, authorities say.

According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, Maria Milagros Lagrandiel was reported missing on Tuesday. Police provided the following description and information:

“Ms. Lagrandiel, who suffers from dementia, was last seen at Taylor Street near Broadway at approximately 2:19 a.m. She was wearing a black hat, multi-colored short-sleeved shirt, tan pants, rolled into shorts, and black shoes with white soles. She also has clothing and paperwork stuffed down the front of her shirt. Ms. Lagrandiel is missing her right pinky finger and speaks only Spanish.”

Authorities said anyone with information can contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Anonymous tips can also be made using the Police Division’s website or via its smartphone app.
